Our History
The idea of galvanizing communities and institutions to confront challenges negatively impacting local energy and food systems by actively participating in mitigating interventions rather than being passive spectators waiting for outside help, was conceived by two Social Engagement (SE) professionals, Mr. Nuwamanya Muhambani Albert and Mr. Byanganga David, as a result of their lived experiences and observations while working in the renewable energy and local economic food systems space amongst various low and slow income communities in Uganda, especially in the Northern, Mid-Western, Eastern and West Nile regions of Uganda between 2014 to date.
The myriad of challenges in energy and food systems amongst the local communities prompted the two founders to explore ways to mobilize and activate local efforts by Individuals, Communities and Institutions to find local solutions with or without external support. The actions envisaged are market focused because it is only when solutions have a market of ideas and products that they will sustainably propagated.
